Cathedral of Santiago + Museum Private Tour
We'll meet at the Obradoiro square at the designated time to begin this private tour. Our first stop will be the museum, where we'll examine the ancient ruins of the Cathedral of Santiago. The temple gained importance in the 9th century, becoming one of Christianity's largest pilgrimage centers.
Next, we'll visit the library of the Cathedral to learn about the Codex Calixtinus, which is known as the first travel guide in history and has a history of attempted theft.
Following this, you'll have a guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral, including its chapels, the High Altar, the organs, and the botafumeiro. We will discuss its usage and significance.
We'll also explore La Corticela and visit the tomb of Santiago Apostle.
After two hours, we will conclude the private tour back at the Obradoiro square.
