Cathedral of Santiago + Museum Private Tour

We'll meet at Obradoiro square at the specified time to begin the private tour of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela.

Our first stop will be the museum, where we will uncover the ancient ruins of the Cathedral, dating back to the 9th century. This period marked the temple's rise as a major pilgrimage center in Christianity.

Next, we will visit the Cathedral's library to learn about the Codex Calixtinus, an important text regarded as the first travel guide in history, which faced an attempted theft.

We will then take a guided tour of the interior of the Cathedral, examining its chapels, the High Altar, the organs, and the renowned botafumeiro. You will learn about its usage and significance.

As we continue, we will discuss what makes La Corticela unique and visit the tomb of Santiago Apostle.

After two hours, we will conclude the private tour back at Obradoiro square.
