Activity Details

We will gather at Rúa das Casas Reais, 31 at the scheduled time to embark on a bus that will take us along the picturesque A Coruña coast and its numerous lighthouses.

Our first stop is the Paxareiras viewpoint, which boasts breathtaking vistas of Carnota Beach and the Finisterre peninsula. After a brief photo opportunity, we will proceed to visit the renowned Finisterre lighthouse, the most westerly lighthouse on the Iberian Peninsula.

At this location, we will dedicate about thirty minutes to exploring the Finisterre lighthouse and its vicinity. Learn about why this region is referred to as the Costa da Morte, or Coast of Death, along with captivating legends of magic and mystique tied to this historic landscape.

Following our lighthouse visit, we will take you to the port of Finisterre for an exciting boat trip along the breathtaking Galician coastline. During this cruise, enjoy a taste of traditional Galician empanada, complemented by a soft drink, vermouth, a glass of wine, or water.

After an hour and 15 minutes at sea, we will return to shore and transfer you to the heart of Finisterre. Here, you will have an hour and a half for self-exploration and lunch at a local establishment.

Once refreshed, we will reconvene at the bus and head to Muxía. As we tour this town, we will discuss its significance within the pilgrimage traditions, making a special visit to the Sanctuary of the Virgin of A Barca, rich with legends linked to the apostle Santiago (St. James).

The day will culminate with a visit to the Lighthouse of Cape Vilan, celebrated for its dramatic scenery and perilous coastline, designated as a Natural Site of National Interest. We will explore the museum at Cabo Vilán lighthouse, gaining insights into its intriguing history and the shipwrecks that have occurred along Galicia's coast.

After a fulfilling 10-hour experience, we will conclude our journey back at the original meeting point in Santiago de Compostela.
