Hostal de Los Reyes Católicos Guided Tour
Meeting point is at 11 am in front of the Hostal de los Reyes Católicos in Plaza del Obradoiro. This old hospital, now a hotel, exemplifies Spain's ornate plateresque architectural style from the 15th century. It was established by the Catholic Monarchs to provide shelter to weary and often ill pilgrims.
During the tour, you will learn about the hospital's original dual function as accommodation and healthcare. The tour includes visits to the four interconnected interior courtyards featuring water fountains, culminating in the royal chapel where poet Rosalía de Castro was baptized.
Further stops will include the sacristy of the church, the stairs of Bethlehem where the old delivery room was located, concluding in the old stables. Experience a journey to a different era in history.
