Day Trip Details

We'll meet in front of the Capilla del Pilar and depart Santiago de Compostela heading northeast. After a road journey, we will arrive at Lugo, known for its well-preserved walls, which are more than 7,000 feet long.

In Lugo, we will take a guided tour of the historic center for an hour and a half. Key monuments include the cathedral of Santa María, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Roman wall surrounding the old town, one of the Iberian Peninsula's best-preserved Roman walls.

Next, we will head to the Cathedrals beach, known for its rock formations resembling Gothic architecture. We will walk along the beach at low tide and enjoy the views of arches more than 100 feet high. Recognized as a Natural Monument, it is considered one of the best beaches in Europe.

Following this, we will visit the town of Ribadeo, near Cathedrals beach. Here, we will view the neoclassical Casa Consistorial and other monuments, as well as the port. You will have free time to try the local Galician cuisine.

After this visit, we will return to the bus and go back to Santiago de Compostela, concluding the excursion.
