Discover the famous Beach of the Cathedrals, and its impressive rock shapes, with this fantastic trip from Santiago de Compostela. You'll also visit Lugo and Ribadeo!

Day Trip Details

We'll meet up at the Plaza de Galicia square and leave Santiago de Compostela to head northeast. After a road journey, we'll arrive at the city of Lugo, known for its walls, which are more than 7,000 feet long.

There, we'll take a guided tour of the historic center of Lugo for an hour and a half. Significant sites include the cathedral of Santa María, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the Roman wall, one of the best-preserved in the Iberian Peninsula.

Next, we'll visit the Cathedrals beach, known for its rocky formations resembling Gothic buttresses. We'll walk around the beach during low tide, allowing access under the arches, which are more than 100 feet high.

Afterward, we'll travel to the town of Ribadeo, close to the Cathedrals beach, to see the neoclassical Casa Consistorial and other landmarks. You'll have free time to sample Galician cuisine.

After this visit, we'll return to the bus and go back to the starting point in Santiago de Compostela where the excursion concludes.
