Rías Baixas, Arosa Island & Combarro Day Trip

Admire enchanting scenery on our day trip to Galicia's famous Rías Baixas. We'll also visit beautiful places such as Padrón, Arosa Island, Cambados, La Toja and Combarro. Additionally, you'll take a boat trip and taste mussels.

Description

After pick-up from Rua dos Bautizados, 12 in Santiago de Compostela, we will head to Padrón. Here, we'll visit the church dedicated to St. James and the "Pedrón" stone. We will take a walk along the Alameda to see the statues of Rosalía de Castro and Camilo José Cela. After a 30-minute tour in Padrón, we will proceed southbound.

Next, we will reach the Pontevedra estuary, the smallest of the Rías Baixas, where we will visit Combarro and its traditional Galician hórreos. You will have free time to eat and take a boat ride with mussel tasting.

The next stop will be the island of La Toja, where we will visit the Chapel of the Shells and other attractions. Following this, we will visit Cambados, the capital of Albariño wine, and you will have free time to explore.

After Cambados, we will proceed to the island of Arousa, providing free time for swimming or walking. We will return to Santiago de Compostela about ten hours after the start time.

Boat trip with mussel tasting

Optionally, you can enjoy a boat trip lasting 1 hour 15 minutes along the Rías Baixas, viewing mussel beds and including a mussel tasting session with a choice of local wine or soft drinks. In low season (April, May, June, October), the boat departs from the port of O Grove. In high season (July, August, September), departures are from the marina in Combarro. Those not taking the trip will have free time in O Grove or Combarro. After the trip, we will return to Santiago de Compostela, completing a ten-hour tour.
