Ribeira Sacra & Ourense Tour

The tour begins at the designated time, heading north to start a guided route through the Ribeira Sacra, known for its numerous monasteries from the Middle Ages. Upon arrival, participants will board a catamaran for a 1.5-hour cruise through the River Sil canyons, experiencing the area's stunning landscapes. During the cruise, drinks such as coffee, soft drinks, or Ribeira Sacra wine will be available.

Following the cruise, the excursion continues with a visit to a viewpoint of the Ribeira Sacra, followed by the Monastery of San Pedro de Rocas, reputedly founded by hermits in the 6th century. Afterwards, the group will travel to Orense, Galicia's thermal capital, where participants will have free time for lunch and the option to visit the Cathedral. The afternoon will involve exploring the historic center, known as the 'City of Bridges.'

The day concludes with a return to starting points between eight and ten hours after the tour begins.

During booking, participants can choose their starting point:

Santiago de Compostela: meet at the church Capilla del Pilar, located at number 6 of Avenida Juan Carlos I, with the tour ending at this location.Orense: after pickup in Santiago, the meeting point is the bus stop in front of the Escola Superior de Enxeñería Informática, located at Avenida Otero Pedrayo, ending at Praza As Burgas.

Changes to the itinerary

For operational reasons, the itinerary may include a visit to the Monastery of Santo Estevo instead of the Monastery of San Pedro de Rocas.
