Ribeira Sacra & Ourense Tour

We'll depart at the scheduled time and proceed to the northern part of the province to start a guided tour through the Ribeira Sacra, named for the many monasteries established in the Middle Ages. This region, meaning Sacred Riverbank, is characterized by its rugged landscapes.

Upon arrival, we will board a catamaran for a 90-minute cruise through the River Sil canyons, where you can enjoy coffee, a soft drink, or a glass of the well-known Ribeira Sacra wine. After the cruise, we will visit a viewpoint in the Ribeira Sacra and then the Monastery of San Pedro de Rocas, founded by hermits in the 6th century according to legend.

Next, we will travel to Orense, the thermal capital of Galicia, where you will have free time for lunch and the option to visit the Cathedral. In the afternoon, explore the historic city center, known as the 'City of Bridges.'

The day concludes with a return to the starting points between eight and ten hours after the commencement of the tour.

When booking, you can choose the starting location:

Santiago de Compostela: meet at the church Capilla del Pilar, number 6, Avenida Juan Carlos I, and the tour ends at the same location.Orense: after pickup in Santiago, we will collect you at the bus stop in front of the Escola Superior de Enxeñería Informática, Avenida Otero Pedrayo, with the tour concluding at Praza As Burgas.

Changes to the itinerary

For operational reasons, we may visit the Monastery of Santo Estevo instead of the Monastery of San Pedro de Rocas.
