Tour of the City of Culture, Pazo de Rivadulla, & Church of Santa Maria

On this tour of Santiago de Compostela's surroundings, we'll visit the City of Culture, the Pazo de Rivadulla and the Church of Santa Maria a Real do Sar.

Tour Details

At the designated time, we'll meet at Galicia Square to begin this tour where we'll explore 3 prominent architectural sites in the surrounding area of Santiago de Compostela.

We'll first make our way to the Pazo de Santa Cruz de Rivadulla. This traditional manor house, dating back to the 15th century, features gardens with a variety of botanical species including olive trees, magnolias, oaks, and ferns.

After this visit, we'll head to Mount Gaiás to see the City of Culture. Here, we will admire the exterior of the main buildings designed by Peter Eisenman. Notable spaces include the Library of Galicia, the Xosé Neira Vilas Auditorium, and a skatepark.

You'll have 20 minutes of free time in the City of Culture to relax and explore. Afterwards, we will visit the Church of Santa Maria a Real do Sar, located just half an hour from the historic center of Santiago.

We will walk around the cloister of this church, located on the banks of the Sar River, and the Sar Collegiate Church Museum, which features an extensive collection of medieval religious art.

We will then return to our initial meeting point in Santiago, concluding this 4.5 hour tour.
