Tour of the City of Culture, Pazo de Rivadulla, & Church of Santa Maria

On this tour of Santiago de Compostela's surroundings, we'll visit the City of Culture, the Pazo de Rivadulla and the Church of Santa Maria a Real do Sar.

Tour Details

We'll begin this tour at Galicia Square, where we will explore 3 prominent architectural sites in the Santiago de Compostela area.

First, we will visit the Pazo de Santa Cruz de Rivadulla, a traditional manor house from the 15th century, featuring its gardens with botanical species such as olive trees, magnolias, oaks, and ferns.

Next, we will head to Mount Gaiás to see the City of Culture, designed by architect Peter Eisenman. We will admire the main buildings, including the Library of Galicia, the Xosé Neira Vilas Auditorium, and a skatepark. You will have 20 minutes of free time in the City of Culture to relax.

We will then proceed to the Church of Santa Maria a Real do Sar, located half an hour from the historic center. We will explore the cloister and other premises of the church by the Sar River. The tour continues with a visit to the Sar Collegiate Church Museum, featuring a collection of medieval religious art.

The tour will conclude as we return to our initial meeting point in Santiago, completing this 4.5 hour experience.
