Cuban Revolution Tour
The tour will begin at the Casa Granda Hotel in Céspedes Park. We will view the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba before boarding a classic vintage car. Our next stop is the Palace of the Provincial Government, home to the Emilio Bacardi Museum, which is essential for understanding the city's politics in the mid-20th century.
Next, we will visit the Moncada Barracks, the site of the attack on July 26, 1953, led by Fidel Castro and others against the Batista regime. This unsuccessful attack sparked the 26th of July Movement, pivotal for the Cuban Revolution's success on January 1, 1960.
At the 26th of July History Museum, we will explore a permanent exhibition that contextualizes the barracks' history and the Revolution. We will then board a horse-drawn carriage to travel to the Santa Ifigenia cemetery.
In the cemetery, we will visit the tomb of Fidel Castro, adjacent to the mausoleum of José Martí. The tour concludes with a return to the starting point in the vintage car after 4 hours.
