Cuban Revolution Tour
The tour will commence in front of the Casa Granda Hotel in Céspedes Park. We will admire the Cathedral of Santiago de Cuba before boarding a classic vintage car. This vehicle will take us to the Palace of the Provincial Government, currently housing the Emilio Bacardi Museum, to understand the city's mid-20th century politics.
Next, we will visit the Moncada Barracks, attacked on July 26, 1953, by guerrillas including Fidel Castro and his brother Raúl. Although the assault failed, it initiated the 26th of July Movement, which paved the way for the Cuban Revolution's success in Havana on January 1, 1960.
At the barracks, we’ll explore the 26th of July History Museum, which contextualizes the barracks' history and the Revolution. Following this visit, we will board a horse-drawn carriage to the Santa Ifigenia Cemetery.
Within the cemetery, we'll stop at the tomb of Fidel Castro, located next to the mausoleum of José Martí. Finally, we’ll return in the vintage car to the starting point, concluding the tour after 4 hours.
