Day 1: Cusco - Aguas Calientes

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco and proceed to the Ollantaytambo train station, approximately a 2-hour drive. Following this, we will board the train for a 1.5-hour journey to Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival at your hotel, feel free to explore the area in the afternoon and evening.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

After breakfast, we will take a bus to Machu Picchu for a 2.5-hour tour of key sites including the Sacred Plaza and the Temple of the Sun. You’ll have 30 minutes for further exploration or to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountains for exceptional views. We will return to Aguas Calientes for lunch before taking the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus ride back to your hotel in Cusco.

Pickup

Pickup is scheduled between 6 am and 9 am from hotels in the historic center of Cusco. If your hotel is outside this area, we will meet you at the Cathedral in Plaza de Armas. The exact pickup time will be confirmed prior to the activity.

You can select from two categories including breakfast:

Standard: 2-star hostel like Rock Rivers.Superior: 3-star hotel like Hotel Hatún Inti Classic.

Types of Train

Travel on panoramic trains featuring large windows and glass roofs. Options include economy class (Expedition or Voyager) and first class (Vistadome or The 360º train).

Departure Stations & Duration

Trains to Cusco may depart from Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1.5 hours from Cusco), subject to availability. During the rainy season (December to March), we will transport by bus to Ollantaytambo. The journey from Poroy takes about 4 hours, while Ollantaytambo takes 1.5 hours.

Tickets to Huayna Picchu

Huayna Picchu entrance is not included; it costs 65USD per person and must be arranged during booking. The trek is self-guided.

Ticket to Machu Picchu Mountain

Access to Machu Picchu Mountain is also excluded, priced at 65USD per person if requested at booking. Trekking is self-guided.

Important

If the tour is canceled due to strikes or adverse weather, an alternative date will be offered. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be given.

This trip does not include entrance tickets, which must be purchased separately. Adhere to the schedules for proper logistics:

Strictly follow the schedules to avoid additional costs. If alternative routes are unavailable, the local operator will provide available options, which may incur additional guiding fees.
