Inca Trail Hike: Four Days

Description

Day 1

On the first day, we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at the scheduled time and head to km 82 by minibus, where we'll start our hiking adventure to Machu Picchu. We will visit the villages of Miskay and Llactapata, enjoy lunch, and explore the archaeological complex of Llactapata. The day concludes at the camp of Lluncachimpa and Huayllabamba, where we will have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2

We will rise early to watch the sunrise over the Andes. After breakfast, we will hike through the valley of Lluncachimpa to Llulluchapampa, ascending to Warmi Wañusqa at 13,780 ft. After lunch, we will proceed through the valley of Pacaymayu to Sayacmarca, where we will have dinner and spend the night at the camp of Chaquicocha at about 12,000 ft.

Day 3

After breakfast, we will continue on the easiest section of the hike through the tropical forests. In the afternoon, we will visit the archaeological sites of Runkarakay, Phuyupatamarca, and Wiñay Huayna, where we will camp for the night.

Day 4

On the last day, we will wake up at around 4:30 am to hike to Inti Punku for a sunrise view of Machu Picchu. Following breakfast, we will descend to Machu Picchu for a guided tour before free time to explore and photograph. We will then take a bus to Aguas Calientes and return you to your hotel in Cusco or end in Urubamba, Ollantaytambo, or Yucay.

Accommodation

This 4-day tour includes 3 nights' camping accommodation. Sleeping bags and trekking poles are not included but available for rent at the camp.

Options

You can choose between two different package options during reservation: the package without a porter, carrying your own luggage, or with a porter, with a luggage weight limit of 6 kilos (13.2 pounds).

Important to note

In case of cancellation due to strikes or weather conditions, an alternative date will be provided. If not possible, a refund will be issued except for the Inca Trail entrance fee (292 PEN).
