Machu Picchu Day Trip

After pickup from your hotel, we will proceed to the train station to embark on our journey to Machu Picchu.

The train journey covers 112 kilometers (70 miles) and takes approximately 1.5 hours. The glass-roofed train provides views of rural Peru’s landscapes including mountains and rivers.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will take a 25 to 30-minute bus ride to Machu Picchu. You will have your first view of this ancient Inca settlement.

In Machu Picchu, a guided tour lasting 2.5 hours will immerse you in the history and legends of the site. The tour includes various significant points of interest.

After the tour, we will return to Aguas Calientes where you will have 2 to 5 hours of free time for lunch and sightseeing before taking the train back. Free time depends on the entry time to Machu Picchu and return train schedule.

Once back in Cusco, we will take you to your hotel by bus.

Panoramic Train

The excursion uses panoramic trains with large windows and a glass roof. You can choose economy class (Expedition or Voyager train) or first class (Vistadome 360º train).

Pickup Point

Pickup is at the scheduled time from hotels in central Cusco. If outside the center, we will meet you at the Cathedral in Plaza de Armas. The exact pickup time varies based on train availability.

Departure Stations & Duration

Trains operate from either Poroy station (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo station (1 hour and 30 minutes from Cusco) based on availability. During the rainy season (December to March), Poroy is closed, requiring travel to Ollantaytambo by bus. Confirmation will be sent via email with pickup time and train station details.

The journey from Poroy to Aguas Calientes takes about 4 hours, while from Ollantaytambo it takes approximately 1.5 hours.

Important Info

If the activity is canceled due to strikes or bad weather, an alternative date will be offered, or a full refund, excluding the non-refundable entrance fee to Machu Picchu (approx. 200 PEN).

Due to high demand, tickets may be sold out, and alternative routes could be provided. All itinerary points will be visited, though the order may vary based on the route.
