Machu Picchu & Huayna Picchu

Tour Details

On your tour day, pickup will be from hotels in Cusco between 4 and 4:30 am. We will travel to Ollantaytambo to catch a train to Aguas Calientes, a 1.5-hour journey through the Peruvian Andes.

Arriving at Aguas Calientes around 7:40 am, we will take a bus to the entrance of Machu Picchu. You will have 4 hours to hike Huayna Picchu and enjoy views from its peak at 2,500 meters. Following the hike, there will be a 3-hour guided tour of the lower section of the archaeological site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

After the tour, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you will have almost five hours of free time to explore the town. Afterward, we will catch the train back to Ollantaytambo and return to Cusco, where you’ll be dropped off at your hotel, concluding this 19-hour tour.

Hotel Pickup

Pickup occurs between 4 and 4:30 am from central hotels. For hotels outside the center, meet at the entrance of the Cathedral in the Plaza de Armas.

Stations & Duration

Trains may depart from Poroy (30 minutes from Cusco) or Ollantaytambo (1.5 hours from Cusco). During the rainy season (December to March), Poroy station will be closed, and bus transport will be provided to Ollantaytambo. Transfer durations vary; the journey from Poroy to Aguas Calientes takes about 4 hours, and from Ollantaytambo takes 1 hour and 30 minutes.

If the activity is canceled due to strikes or weather, an alternative date will be offered. Refunds will be provided, excluding the non-cancellable entrance fee to Machu Picchu (approximately 200 PEN).
