If you're staying in Cusco and wish to visit one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, the train to Machu Picchu offers a unique experience through the Andes.

Description

When booking, you can choose from the following stations in Cusco for your train trip to Machu Picchu:

Wanchaq Station: 5:10 am, 12:30 pm, and 4:30 pmSan Pedro Station: 6:40 am and 7:30 amPoroy Station: 6:40 am and 8:25 am

Departing from Wanchaq Station includes a bus transfer to Ollantaytambo, from where you will take the train to Aguas Calientes. The train journey lasts between 3 hours 30 minutes and 4 hours.

You can select from the following types of trains:

Expedition Train

The Expedition train travels on a spectacular railway route, providing stunning scenery through its large windows.

Vistadome Train

The Vistadome train features panoramic windows, allowing you to engage with the natural landscape during your journey, complemented by recorded commentary about the locations you pass.

Rainy season

From January to April, trains from Cusco may not run regularly. For travel during these months, bookings from Ollantaytambo are recommended.

Limited availability

This service is popular, leading to limited ticket availability. Advance booking is recommended. You will receive your official train tickets within 72 hours after booking.
