Private Santo Amaro 3 Day Hike

Embark on an extraordinary adventure through the breathtaking Lençóis Maranhenses National Park with a remarkable 3-day hiking journey from Barreirinhas to Santo Amaro.

Activity Overview

Day 1: Barreirinhas to Baixa Grande

Our expedition begins at approximately 2:45 to 3:00 am when we will collect you from your hotel in Barreirinhas and board a ferry toward the stunning Lençóis Maranhenses National Park.

Upon arrival, we will embark on a scenic hike towards the charming village of Baixa Grande. This stretch encompasses a trek of about 4 miles, where you can marvel at the crystal-clear lagoons and expansive sand dunes.

We will reach Baixa Grande in the afternoon, where we will have the opportunity to meet a local family and stay overnight.

Day 2: Baixa Grande to Queimada dos Britos

After enjoying a modest breakfast, we will gather our belongings and hit the trails again, crossing the dunes towards the enchanting oasis of Queimada dos Britos. This segment of the hike is expected to take about five hours.

Having savored the picturesque views of Lençóis Maranhenses National Park throughout the morning, we will arrive at Queimada dos Britos, where we will sleep for the night.

Day 3: Queimada dos Britos to Betânia to Santo Amaro

At the break of dawn, around 4 am, we will indulge in a gratifying breakfast before commencing our trek to the community of Betânia, situated about seven hours down the road.

As with previous days, we will revel in the stunning scenery and take refreshing dips in the park's lagoons.

Once we complete the hike, a 4x4 vehicle will be ready to transport you to your preferred location in Santo Amaro.

Accommodation

This hiking experience includes two nights of accommodation with breakfast, where you will spend the night in a hammock within a local family’s home.
