Discover the traces left behind by Spaniards in the Dominican Republic's capital on our Ciudad Colonial Guided Tour in Santo Domingo, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Tour Details

At your chosen time, we'll meet in front of the Royal House Museum and start our guided tour of Santo Domingo's Ciudad Colonial. During this tour, we'll visit the most significant sites in the oldest part of the Dominican capital.

Our first stop will be the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, the oldest cathedral in North America, commissioned by Charles V. Next, we will proceed to the Fortaleza Ozama, the oldest fort built by Europeans in America.

We will stroll along Las Damas Street, where we will admire the House of Rodrigo Bastidas, the founder of several South American cities. We will also see the former residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila as we continue learning about the colonial era in Santo Domingo.

Afterwards, we will visit the National Pantheon, the Royal House Museum, and the Plaza de España, home to the iconic Alcazar de Colón.

After 2 hours exploring the history of Santo Domingo, we'll conclude the tour.
