Explore the rich cultural heritage of the capital of the Dominican Republic through this exclusive Ciudad Colonial Private Tour. Immerse yourself in the oldest European-established settlement that has been continuously inhabited.

Details of the Tour

At the time that best suits you, we will convene at the Museo de las Casas Reales to embark on a guided exploration of the Ciudad Colonial area in Santo Domingo. Are you prepared to uncover the intriguing corners of this historic capital?

We will kick off our journey at the Cathedral of the First Church in the Americas, officially named Basílica Menor de Santa María de la Encarnación. After taking in the impressive façade of this landmark, we will continue to the Ozama Fortress, the oldest European stronghold in the New World.

Next, we will stroll down Las Damas Street, where we’ll pause to admire the House of Rodrigo Bastidas, notable as the founder of various South American cities. Additionally, we will view the historical residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila, authentic representations of the colonial period in Santo Domingo!

Following that, we’ll pass by the National Pantheon and the Plaza de España, home to the iconic Alcazar de Colón. We will also get to see the remnants of the San Nicolás de Bari Hospital, established in the 16th century.

Our next destination is the Casa del Cordón with its unique architecture, followed by a visit to the Our Lady of Altagracia Church.

Before wrapping up the tour, we will indulge in a refreshing cocktail or juice at the Museum of Rum, delving into the traditions surrounding Dominican rum. After exploring the historical layers of Santo Domingo, our tour will conclude within this engaging museum.
