Tour Details
At the time of your choice, we'll meet at Museo de las Casas Reales to begin a guided tour of the Ciudad Colonial neighborhood in Santo Domingo. The first stop will be the Cathedral of the First Church in the Americas, known as the Basílica Menor de Santa María de la Encarnación. Next, we will visit the Ozama Fortress, the oldest European bastion on the continent.
The tour will continue along Las Damas Street, where we will see the House of Rodrigo Bastidas and the residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila, important historical sites from the colonial era. We will then visit the National Pantheon and the Plaza de España, home of the Alcazar de Colón, and the ruins of the San Nicolás de Bari Hospital.
The next stop will be the Casa del Cordón and the Our Lady of Altagracia church. Finally, we will enjoy a cocktail or juice at the Museum of Rum and learn about the Dominican liquor tradition before concluding the tour.
