The Dominican Republic is one of the biggest exporters of cocoa in the world. Discover it all on this tour from Santo Domingo, visiting a chocolate and coffee-producing estate. You'll also take part in a casabe de yuca workshop!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll collect you from your hotel in Santo Domingo to begin this day of discovering 2 of the star products of the Dominican Republic: chocolate and coffee. We'll hop on board a minibus and make our way to an estate where we'll participate in different workshops.

Did you know that the Dominican Republic is one of the world leaders in producing organic cocoa? We'll enjoy a small hiking tour, see traditional crops, and follow a cocoa grain from its harvest to when it's made into chocolate. You'll be amazed!

We'll also learn how to make cocoa on a bonfire and prepare chocolate, as well as artisan casabe de yuca and coffee, while exploring various peculiarities about these products.

The following part of the tour will take place at a cenote, where you'll be able to swim in the crystal clear waters. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a typical lunch in the area.

After eating, we'll return to the minibus and begin our return journey to Santo Domingo, where we will conclude the tour after 7 hours.
