Workshop options

At Kahkow Experience in Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial, you can attend various workshops based on your preferences. For all options, we will meet on Calle Las Damas at your chosen time.

Chocolate workshop (20 minutes)

We will visit Kahkow Experience to learn about the chocolate industry and its significance in the Dominican Republic. Throughout the factory, we will understand the journey of cocoa beans from cultivation to chocolate making.

Participants will observe the machines used to make chocolate and create their own chocolate bar as a souvenir.

Chocolate workshop + Documentary & cacao farm (30 minutes)

This workshop includes a documentary featuring insights from the chocolate industry and a review of the history of cacao. Following the film, we will visit a cacao plantation to explore typical Dominican cacao farms and view the drying and fermentation rooms.

In the Sensory Room, we will perform a chocolate tasting using our 5 senses, focusing on cocoa percentages, and conclude by making our own chocolate bar.

Chocolate workshop + Cook with the chef (2 hours)

This option begins with an exploration of chocolate's origins. We will tour Kahkow Experience to observe production processes and see a demonstration of chocolate tempering.

Following the demonstration, participants will prepare various chocolate dishes under the guidance of a chef, including molds, chocolate baskets, decorated chocolates, brownies, and fruit coatings. The workshop concludes with a tasting of our creations.
