Workshop options

At Kahkow Experience, located in Santo Domingo's Zona Colonial, you can attend various workshops. All options begin on Calle Las Damas at your chosen time.

Chocolate workshop (20 minutes)

This session includes a visit to Kahkow Experience to gain insights into the chocolate industry in the Dominican Republic. Participants will explore the factory to understand the journey of cocoa beans from cultivation to chocolate production.

Attendees will observe the machinery used in chocolate making and create their own chocolate bar as a souvenir.

Chocolate workshop + Documentary & cacao farm (30 minutes)

This option features a documentary detailing the properties of chocolate and the history of cacao from North America to global trade.

Participants will visit a cacao plantation to view typical Dominican cacao farms, including drying and fermentation rooms. In the Sensory Room, there will be a chocolate tasting with the 5 senses focused on cocoa percentages, culminating in creating a chocolate bar.

Chocolate workshop + Cook with the chef (2 hours)

This extensive workshop explores chocolate's origins and its significance in the Dominican Republic. Attendees will learn about the processes involved in chocolate production and witness a tempering demonstration.

Led by a chef, participants will prepare various dishes with chocolate, including molded figures, decorated chocolates, brownies, and coated fruits. The workshop concludes with a tasting of the creations made.
