Culinary Tour of Santo Domingo
Our adventure begins at 9 am at Plaza Pellerano Castro. Here, we will embark on a walking journey through the Colonial Zone of Santo Domingo. Are you prepared to savor the traditional culinary delights of the Dominican capital?
As we navigate through some of the city's most prominent landmarks, including the Panteon de la Patria and Catedral Primada de America, we will share insights into the typical dishes that define Santo Domingo's gastronomy. One of these is quipe, a scrumptious baked good with Lebanese roots that was brought to the island by the Lebanese immigrants who settled in the southern region of the Dominican Republic.
Additionally, we will sample a variety of seasonal fruits and delightful sweets. Our journey will lead us to Santo Domingo's Chinatown, where we can indulge in its renowned recipes – what do you think about trying a delectable Chinese steamed bun?
Of course, we will also visit the Mercado Modelo, the city’s largest market, as well as other key sites such as the Museo Casa de Tostado, Parque de la Independencia, and Little Haiti. As we conclude our exploration, we will arrive at Isabel La Catolica Street to enjoy a refreshing Dominican beer. Cheers to new flavors!
Finally, we will wrap up the tour at Parque Colon around 12 pm.
