On this dramatised tour, you will travel back to the early 19th century with Napoleon Bonaparte through the streets of Santoña, exploring the town's history in an engaging manner.

Dramatised Tour of Napoleonic Santoña

Join us as we return to the beginning of the 19th century and discover the past of this city. Napoleon Bonaparte will meet us next to the Monument to Juan de la Cosa at the seafront promenade in Santoña.

We will tour the Cantabrian town accompanied by the French general, who will share the history of significant local forts, including the forts of San Martín and San Carlos, which were crucial in protecting Santoña's bay. Detailed stories of battles will be recounted by Bonaparte himself.

Next, we will visit the interior of the fort of San Carlos to understand its strategic function. Participants will need to keep pace with the French emperor's military marching and adhere to his soldierly instructions.

During the tour, you will learn why British and French flags fly on the promenade. This reflects the town's identity during the French occupation, often referred to as "the French or northern Gibraltar".

Finally, the tour will conclude in the center of Santoña, where we will bid farewell to Napoleon after an engaging hour and a half.
