Tour Overview
We will convene at the Mirador de las Marismas pier at the specified hour to commence our adventure. Are you curious about how Santoña's celebrated anchovy is crafted? Let’s dive in!
The first leg of our journey takes us through the bustling fishing port of this Cantabrian locale, where you'll learn about its operations. This port holds the title of being the most significant in Cantabria. Here, we'll explore the features of purse seine boats and delve into the intriguing terms of marine life.
Next, we will step into the fish market, where the heart of seafood commerce beats. You’ll witness the auction room in action and gain insights into the dynamics of selling fish right after unloading from the vessels.
As we continue, we will make our way to the Galería de Arte de la Anchoa de Conservas Ana María, better known as the Anchovy Museum. Here, you'll immerse yourself in the exhibitions, featuring 20th-century machinery and observing the intricate filleting process of anchovies.
To wrap up our experience, you will have the chance to taste a fillet of anchovy, concluding our tour on a savory note. A delightful experience!
