Rota do Cangaço is one of the main tourist itineraries along the course of the São Francisco River. Take in its captivating landscapes on this excursion from Aracaju.

Rota do Cangaço Excursion

We'll pick you up at 6:30 am at your hotel in Aracaju and set off for the towns located along the famous Rota do Cangaço. The first stop will be in Piranhas, a historic town with 19th-century colorful houses declared National Heritage. We will review the history of the cangaceiros, led by Virgulino Ferreira da Silva, known as Lampião.

Next, we will take a boat ride on the São Francisco River, where you can see the contrast between the lush forest and the ochre riverside rocks. The cruise will then take us to the Cangaço Ecopark, where you will have three hours of free time to swim in the river and have a meal. Additionally, participants may go on a short hike to the Grota de Angicos, the cave where Lampião died.

Finally, we will return to Aracaju, with arrival at your hotel set for 7 pm.
