Embark on a journey to Nova Trento and uncover the Italian heritage embedded in this charming town situated in Brazil's interior. Our excursion will take us through sanctuaries and into the bustling city of Brusque, renowned for its department stores.

Excursion to Nova Trento & Brusque

Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Florianópolis, as we set our sights on the northern region of Santa Catarina. After a little over an hour's drive, our first destination will be São João Batista.

This town boasts over 150 shoe manufacturing companies! Here, we will explore a local market offering an array of regional products that highlight its prominent reputation.

Next, we will proceed to Nova Trento, a municipality noteworthy for its strong Austrian, German, Polish, and Italian influences due to significant immigration waves in the late 19th century.

As midday approaches, a much-needed pause will follow at a traditional Italian restaurant (lunch not included). Following our meal, we will explore the town’s central attraction, the Sanctuary of Santa Paulina, celebrated as the first Brazilian saint. This impressive sanctuary attracts many visitors, making it one of the most popular sites in Santa Catarina.

After our time at the sanctuary, we will head to a vineyard to discover the local wine production and then to a chocolate factory. During this segment of the tour, we'll share insights into what makes these products unique!

Our journey will then take us to Brusque, ideal for shopping enthusiasts. Here, we'll visit FIP (Feira da Moda), a marketplace filled with hundreds of retail options catering to various tastes. You will enjoy approximately two hours of free time to shop at your own pace.

We aim to return to Florianópolis around 5 PM.
