Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Recife to start this day trip to Olinda, where we'll visit the Ricardo Brennand Institute. Once in Olinda, our first stop will be the Convent of São Francisco, known for having the biggest collection of Portuguese tiles in the state.
Next, we'll continue to Alto da Sé for a panoramic view of the city. We'll then explore key attractions such as the Cathedral, Misericórdia Church and the Slope of Mercy, the monastery of São Bento, Ribeira Market, and Casa de Artesanatos, along with the Bonecos de Olinda, traditional Pernambuco carnival dolls.
Afterwards, we’ll visit Carmo Church, the oldest Carmelite Order temple in Brazil, before returning to Alto da Sé for lunch break.
Post-lunch, we'll head to the Ricardo Brennand Institute, which includes the São João Castle-Museum, an art gallery, an auditorium, a Sculpture Garden, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Graças, and a restaurant. The museum houses the world's largest collection of the Dutch artist Frans Post and features over 3,000 bladed weapons, including 27 complete medieval suits of armour.
