On this day trip to Olinda and Ricardo Brennand Institute, we'll explore the main attractions of this city famous for its Carnival dolls.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Recife to start this day trip to Olinda, including a visit to the Ricardo Brennand Institute. Shall we go?

In Olinda, founded by the Portuguese in 1535, our first stop will be the Convent of São Francisco, known for having the biggest collection of Portuguese tiles in the state.

We’ll continue to Alto da Sé for panoramic views of the city. We will then visit the Cathedral, Misericórdia Church and the Slope of Mercy, the monastery of São Bento, the Ribeira Market, the Casa de Artesanatos, and see the Bonecos de Olinda, the popular Pernambuco carnival dolls.

Next, we will drive to Carmo Church, the oldest Carmelite Order temple in Brazil. Afterward, we will return to Alto da Sé for lunch.

After lunch, we'll head to the Ricardo Brennand Institute, which consists of the São João Castle-Museum, an art gallery, an auditorium, a Sculpture Garden, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora das Graças, and a restaurant.

This museum features the world's largest collection of the Dutch artist Frans Post and an exhibition of bladed weapons, with over 3,000 pieces, including 27 complete medieval suits of armour.

After a 2-hour visit to the institute, we will return to Recife, arriving at your hotel approximately 7.5 hours after pickup.
