Description

At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from your hotel to start our panoramic tour of São Luís. São Luís is notable for being the only Brazilian city founded by the French, and this tour will highlight its history and culture.

Currently, São Luís is recognized for the traditional Afro-indigenous festival Bumba-Meu-Boi and as a hub for important poets and writers. The tour begins at the São Luís beaches, where we will see the Espigão, designed to protect the city from strong waves, and pass by the Jansen lake. We will share the legend associated with this lake while crossing the bridge over the Anil River.

Next, we will enter the urban area of São Luís and explore the historical center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. São Luís features over 3,000 buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries, adorned with unique coloured tiles.

During the tour, we will visit key sites including the São Luís Cathedral, Rua do Giz, and the Palácio dos Leões, home of the state government. The tour concludes at the Tulhas Market, which specializes in local Maranhão products.

After a 3-hour tour, we will return to our vehicle and drop you off at your hotel.
