Tour Details
The tour meets outside the Pinacoteca do Estado at 10 am.
The Pinacoteca is one of Brazil's main museums, housing over 10,000 works of art. We will first explore the building, dating back to the 19th century, and then admire key pieces from its vast collection, including paintings, sculptures, engravings, and photography. Notable works include bronze statues by Auguste Rodin and paintings by Almeida Junior. After the guided tour, there will be an hour for lunch at Praça da Luz.
After lunch, we will reconvene at the center of the square, home to the iconic Estação da Luz, to learn about the history of Brazilian trains and their evolution.
Adjacent to the station is the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, where we will discover the origins of the Portuguese language and its spread to South America and other regions.
Finally, the tour will conclude at 2 pm at Praça da Luz.
