Pinacoteca, Estação da Luz & Museo da Lingua Portuguesa Tour

On this tour of São Paulo, we'll visit three significant museums: the Pinacoteca do Estado, the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, and the historic Estação da Luz.

Tour Details

The tour meets outside the Pinacoteca do Estado at 10 am.

The Pinacoteca is a primary museum in Brazil, housing over 10,000 works of art. We will explore the 19th-century building and view its notable collection of paintings, sculptures, engravings, and photography. Key works include the bronze statues of Auguste Rodin and paintings by Almeida Junior. After the guided tour, there will be an hour for lunch at Praça da Luz.

Following lunch, we will convene in the center of the square at the Estação da Luz, learning about the history of Brazilian trains and their evolution.

Adjacent to the station is the Museu da Língua Portuguesa, where we will learn about the origins of the Portuguese language and its spread to South America, Africa, and Asia.

Finally, the tour concludes at 2 pm at the Praça da Luz.
