Join us on an excursion to Quilombo da Fazenda, where we will learn about a village formed by descendants of African slaves and explore the nature of Ubatuba.
Quilombo da Fazenda Tour
We will meet at Vergueiro metro station at 1:45 am. The minibus will depart for Ubatuba, approximately three and a half hours away.
Upon arrival at about 5:30 am, we will visit Quilombo da Fazenda and start with a breakfast.
We will learn about the family lives in Quilombo da Fazenda, their daily routines, and their relationship with nature while exploring how they have maintained Afro-Brazilian traditions.
The Casa da Farinha, a colonial-era mill still in operation, will be one of the highlights, demonstrating how manioc flour is produced. We will also visit the Casa de Artesanato to discover the local handicrafts.
A hike through the surrounding forest will lead us to the waterfall of the Fazenda River for a refreshing dip, followed by a meal featuring typical Quilombola cuisine such as fish with banana, rice, salad, cupuaçu juice, and fruit.
We will then hike to the beach of Fazenda, where you will have three hours of free time to swim. Finally, we will return to the minibus for the journey back to Sao Paulo, concluding the tour at approximately 8 pm.
