Are you hungry for adventure? Satisfy your cravings with a trekking experience in the Serra da Cantareira mountains. Plus, there are unbeatable views of Sao Paulo!
Description
In the morning, we'll leave Sao Paulo and take a 30-minute bus journey to the north of the city, entering the Cantareira State Park, a natural reserve of over 7,900 hectares.
Once in the Serra da Cantareira mountains, we will learn about the park's history, as it served as a trade route in the 15th and 16th centuries. Our trek begins on a 1.5-km section of the Macuco Trail, where we will observe local flora and fauna while heading to the Cantareira dam, the water source for Sao Paulo.
We will then continue for 3.5 km along the Waterfall Trail, crossing the River Engordador, where a refreshing dip is possible. Finally, we will arrive at Casa da Bomba, once part of the old hydraulic system, now recognized as historic heritage.
Before returning to Sao Paulo, enjoy 45 minutes of free time to appreciate the natural beauty and take photos of the scenery.
