Explore the ancient city of Gjirokastër, known as the 'City of Stone', on this excursion from Saranda. We'll visit the castle and various museums while learning about the history of this area of Albania.
Excursion to Gjirokastër
At 9 am, we'll meet up at Tea Tours & Bookstore Toena. Then we board the vehicle and set off to the city of Gjirokastra, about an hour away from Saranda.
Upon arrival, we'll set off on a guided tour of this UNESCO-protected area and learn about its Ottoman history.
Our first stop will be at the Castle of Gjirokastra. Following that, we'll visit the Ethnographic Museum, with interiors reflecting 19th-century houses. We'll also visit The House of Zakat and Scaly, the oldest house in the city.
Next, we'll explore the museum house of Ismail Kadare before having free time to check out the city and eat lunch.
At the end of the tour, we will return to the meeting point after a total of 5 hours.
