National Park of Blue Eye + Lekuresi Castle Tour
We'll meet at Toena bookshop at 9 am, then board a bus to the Blue Eye lagoon in Albania. This site has been declared a protected Natural Monument.
Upon arrival, we’ll explore the area, including Mali i Gjërë Mountain and the natural freshwater spring, known as the Blue Eye. It is the largest of the 18 freshwater springs in Mali i Gjere area, named for its resemblance to a blue eye, with dark and light blue shades. The spring is approximately 50 metres (164 feet) deep and surrounded by lush vegetation.
We'll also visit the ruins of Lekuresi Castle, believed to date back to 1537 during Sultan Sulejmani's attack on Corfu. The castle is located on a hill above the city of Saranda, offering views of the bay of Saranda, the road to Butrint, and the islands of Ksamil and Corfu.
Finally, we'll return to the meeting point.
