Tybee Island Day Trip & Dolphin Watching

On the Tybee Island Day Trip, we will visit significant sights from the American Civil War and enjoy dolphin watching. We will meet at the Savannah Visitor Centre and board a bus to Tybee Island in Chatham County.

Upon arrival, we will take a scenic tour of historic sites, including Fort Pulaski, a site of a Civil War battle noted for its innovative use of rifles, which rendered coastal cannons obsolete.

We will also visit the Tybee Island Lighthouse and the Cockspur Island Lighthouse, which is historically significant due to its role during the battle of Fort Pulaski, remaining largely undamaged despite being in the line of fire.

After the tour, we will stop at the Crab Shack, where you will have free time for lunch in a restaurant known for its unique atmosphere.

Following lunch, we will board a boat to observe Tybee Island's bottlenose dolphins. You will have the opportunity to watch these mammals jump and play, while also spotting seabirds in the area.

We will conclude the trip by returning to dry land and taking a minibus back to the meeting point in Savannah.
