Wormsloe & Bonaventure Cemetery Day Trip
We will pick you up at 9:30 am from the Savannah Visitor Centre and drive to the Bonaventure Cemetery.
In this guided tour of the cemetery, established in 1846, we will walk beneath moss-covered oak trees that shade 19th-century funerary monuments. The sculptures on the tombstones display notable realism.
During the tour, we will see the tombs of prominent individuals, including composer Johnny Mercer, philanthropist Mary Telfair, and politician Edward Telfair, Georgia's first governor.
Next, we will visit the Erica Davis Lowcountry Restaurant, where you will have 1 hour of free time to enjoy traditional Southern cuisine, including grilled dishes and seafood specialties.
After lunch, we will proceed to the Wormsloe Plantation, located on the Isle of Hope, famous for its oak trees. This site is historically significant for an important event in Georgia's past.
We will make a brief stop at the Savannah Byrd Cookie Company before returning to the meeting point in Savannah, arriving by 3:30 pm.
