If you're in Sciacca and you'd like to visit Sicily's capital, we've got it covered! On our day trip to Palermo and Monreale, you'll explore 2,500 years of history and visit an incredible cathedral with gold Byzantine mosaics.

Palermo & Monreale Day Trip

Having picked you up at 8:15 am from your chosen meeting point, we'll leave Sciacca and head to Palermo. Our journey by minibus to Sicily's capital will take just over 1 hour.

The first stop of the day will be at the Catacombs of Palermo, where you'll have 30 minutes to visit this funerary complex. This site offers insight into life and traditions surrounding death from the 17th to the 19th century.

Next, you'll have 3 hours to explore the historic centre of Palermo at your leisure. Key monuments include the Cathedral, the fountain in Piazza Pretoria, the Massimo Theatre, and the Norman Palace.

You'll have the chance to taste Palermo's gastronomy at a traditional market such as the Capo or La Vucciria. After lunch, we'll drive through the Conca d'Oro Valley to Monreale, where you'll have 1 hour 30 minutes to visit the town.

In Monreale, the cathedral, dating back to 1174, features numerous mosaics illustrating various biblical scenes. Nearby, you can explore the squares of William II and Vittorio Emmanuele.

We'll return to the starting point and drop you off at around 6 pm. See you next time!
