Syracuse & Ortigia Island Day Trip
We will meet at 6:45 am at your chosen meeting point and board a minibus to Syracuse. The drive from Sciacca will take 3 hours 30 minutes.
The first stop will be at the Neapolis Archaeological Park, where you have 1 hour 30 minutes of free time. This ancient site includes a Greek theatre, a Roman amphitheatre, ruins of altars and temples, and caves used as prisons.
Next, we will head to Ortigia, the old town of Syracuse, where you will have 4 hours of free time to explore. This is where the mathematician Archimedes was born, and the area has been declared a World Heritage Site due to its architectural and historical significance.
Highlights of Ortigia Island include the Temple of Apollo, the Cathedral, the Fountain of Arethusa, and Maniace Castle. You can also sample local gastronomy during your visit.
The trip concludes at 8 pm when we drop you back at the starting point.
