An Exploration of Sedona Vortex Energy
Our Touch the Earth Tour is an educational journey into the history, mystical beliefs and physical characteristics of Sedona's vortices. This tour is mostly on paved roads with a rugged 4x4 trail, which takes you to a short steep hike for 360-degree views and time to reflect.
Your journey starts at Pink Jeep Plaza in Uptown Sedona, where you’ll board a custom-built, open-air Pink Jeep® Wrangler. Your local, adventure tour guide will share the history of Sedona and point out famous rock formations en route to your first stop. You'll travel to spectacular viewpoints while learning about Sedona's world-famous vortex sites.
Winding through West Sedona to Mystic Vista, you'll travel through Boynton Canyon—the spiritual home of the Yavapai-Apache. This area is believed to be the creation site of the human race by some Native cultures.
Mystic Vista is a butte with 360-degree views across the lush, green Verde Valley. Legend has it that this has been a sacred ceremonial site for 2,000 years. From here, you can see Cockscomb, Doe Mesa, Bear Mountain, Boynton Canyon, Thunder Mountain, Courthouse Butte, Bell Rock and Cathedral Rock.
Time permitting, you’ll also visit Airport Mesa or Lover’s Knoll.
Airport Mesa is the closest vortex to the center of Sedona, with twisted juniper trees and panoramic views of the city and surrounding red rocks. Ask your guide about the nearby, steep trail that will take you to the knoll at the top of the vortex itself. This is a popular hike for sunrise or sunset.
Alternatively, your tour will wind along Red Rock Loop Road to Lover's Knoll, a high point popular for meditation, weddings and spectacular photography during sunset or a full moon. From here, you'll look out towards Cathedral Rock, one of the most photographed landmarks in Arizona.
Note: Tour stops may be altered based on weather conditions, seasonal crowds and/or the group’s interest.
