In the abandoned and demilitarised city of Cheorwon, the vestiges of the Korean conflict are evident. Discover the history on this day trip from Seoul.

Description

The Korean War caused significant collateral damage to both military and civilian populations, with Cheorwon being heavily affected. Under North Korean control from 1945, it was the site of numerous battles and has since been rebuilt as part of South Korea. Today, military trucks and checkpoints are common, reminding visitors of the past.

At the specified time, we will meet at your chosen point and start the tour by heading to the demilitarized area of Cheorwon. There is a plaque that reads, "The iron horse wants to run again," which your guide will explain during the tour.

We will visit the Second Tunnel, the widest tunnel in Korea, discovered in 1975, and walk along 3.5 kilometers (2.1 miles) to explore a secret invasion route.

Next, we will stop at the Cheorwon Peace Observatory, dedicated to the victims of the conflict, offering views of the border between the two Koreas. We will then enjoy a vegetarian lunch. To conclude the day, we will visit the observatory at the Y-shaped Hantangang Bridge for panoramic views of Korea's longest suspension bridge.

Finally, we will return to the pickup points in Seoul, concluding this 11-13 hour tour.
