Carmona Day Trip
We will travel along Rasro Street to Carmona. After a 30-minute journey, we arrive at this town, which won the bronze medal for most charming village in Andalucia in 2015. We will visit the remains of the Fortress of San Pedro, retaining its noble form due to an extensive restoration.
We will tour the historic centre by foot, from the Cordoba Gate to the Sevilla Gate, passing through San Fernando and Blas Infante squares. This tour will include explanations of the gothic, Muslim, and baroque heritage held by the churches of San Bartolomé and San Pedro.
Following this, we will visit the remains of the Roman necropolis at Carmona, regarded as one of the finest examples in the Seville region. Noteworthy here is the Elephant Tomb, recognized for the stone sculpture of an elephant associated with the cult to the god Mitra.
We will then return to Sevilla by bus, arriving approximately 4 hours later.
