Carmona Day Trip

We will travel along Rasro Street to Carmona. After a 30-minute journey, we will arrive at the town, which won the bronze medal for most charming village in Andalucia in 2015. We will explore the medieval period by visiting the remains of the Fortress of San Pedro, preserved through an extensive restoration.

We will tour the historic centre by foot, from the Cordoba Gate to the Sevilla Gate, passing through San Fernando and Blas Infante squares. This tour will include explanations of the gothic, Muslim and baroque heritage of the churches of San Bartolomé and San Pedro.

Next, we will visit the remains of the Roman necropolis at Carmona, recognized as one of the finest examples in the Seville region. Here, notable artifacts include the Elephant Tomb, known for the stone sculpture of an elephant discovered at the site, central to the worship of the god Mitra.

We will return to Sevilla by bus, arriving approximately 4 hours after departure.
