Carmona Day Trip
We'll travel along Rasro Street toward Carmona. After a 30-minute journey, we arrive at the town, recognized for its charm. The tour includes a visit to the Fortress of San Pedro, which has undergone extensive restoration.
We will tour the historic centre on foot, from the Cordoba Gate to the Sevilla Gate, passing through the San Fernando and Blas Infante squares. During this tour, we will discuss the gothic, Muslim and baroque heritage represented by the churches of San Bartolomé and San Pedro.
Next, we will explore the remains of the Roman necropolis at Carmona, notable for its significance in the Seville region. Here, you can find various sacred remains, including the Elephant Tomb, celebrated for its stone sculpture of an elephant and its connection to the cult of the god Mitra.
