Carmona Day Trip
We will travel along Rasro Street and head to Carmona.
After a 30-minute journey, we arrive at the town, which won the bronze medal for most charming village in Andalucia in 2015. We will visit the Fortress of San Pedro, which retains its noble form thanks to extensive restoration.
We will tour the historic centre by foot, from the Cordoba Gate to the Sevilla Gate, passing through the San Fernando and Blas Infante squares. This tour will explain the gothic, Muslim, and baroque heritage of the churches of San Bartolomé and San Pedro.
Next, we will visit the remains of the Roman necropolis at Carmona, one of the finest examples in the Seville region. This site includes various significant remains, such as the Elephant Tomb, known for the stone sculpture of an elephant linked to the cult of the god Mitra.
We will then return to Sevilla by bus, arriving approximately 4 hours later.
