Glacier Trek in Kenai Fjords National Park

We will begin our day bright and early at Seward Hwy, where a minibus will whisk us away to the stunning landscape of Kenai Fjords National Park, setting the stage for our memorable exploration of the local glaciers.

Upon arrival, we’ll equip ourselves with trekking poles and crampons, ready to commence our journey. This trek will cover about six kilometers (4 miles) and feature an elevation gain of approximately 500 meters (1,640 feet). While this hike may pose some challenges, the extraordinary vistas will prove to be well worth the effort!

As we navigate the expansive ice formations, we’ll explore the interior of the Kenai Fjords glaciers, revealing their history and understanding the effects of climate change on these natural wonders.

Our knowledgeable guides will share insights on the local wildlife, and we may even spot bears, moose, mountain goats, or marmots during our adventure.

Throughout the day, we’ll pause to refresh ourselves with a sandwich, an energy bar, and a piece of fruit, enjoying a picnic set against the incredible backdrop of glacier ice.

After an exhilarating eight-hour experience, we will head back to our transport and return to the point of departure, where we’ll conclude our incredible journey.
