Join us on this journey to Borgarfjörður Eystri's puffin colonies, featuring stunning mountain passes, local cuisine, and the breathtaking Gufufoss Waterfall.

Description

At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Seyðisfjörður Harbour to begin our journey to the puffin colonies of Borgarfjörður Eystri. This adventure includes a scenic drive through East Iceland across 2 mountain passes, offering views of the North Atlantic Ocean and the Icelandic landscape.

Our first stop will be a panoramic viewpoint with views of the North Iceland mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, ideal for capturing Iceland’s natural beauty.

Upon arriving at Borgarfjörður Eystri, we’ll visit the puffin colonies, where you can observe these seabirds in their natural habitat. Our guide will provide insights about the puffins and the area’s ecosystem.

Next, we’ll explore Álfaborg and Lindarbakki or the Elves' city, learning about the legends and folklore. A lunch break will follow, allowing you to sample local cuisine.

Our journey continues to the Gufufoss Waterfall, a highlight of the Seyðisfjörður Valley and featured in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”. This waterfall is considered a must-see.

After 5 hours of scenery, wildlife, and cultural experiences, we’ll return to Seyðisfjörður Harbour. See you next time!
