Join us on this journey to Borgarfjörður Eystri's puffin colonies, featuring mountain passes, local cuisine, and the Gufufoss Waterfall.

Description

At the indicated time, we’ll meet at Seyðisfjörður Harbour to start our journey to the puffin colonies of Borgarfjörður Eystri. We will drive through East Iceland, traversing 2 mountain passes with views of the North Atlantic Ocean and the Icelandic landscape.

Our first stop will be at a panoramic viewpoint for views of the North Iceland mountain range and the Atlantic Ocean, perfect for photography.

Upon reaching Borgarfjörður Eystri, we’ll visit the puffin colonies. Here, you can observe puffins in their habitat, while our guide shares insights about the puffins and the local ecosystem.

Next, we’ll explore Álfaborg and Lindarbakki, known as the Elves' city. Learn about the area's legends and folklore. We will pause for lunch, giving you the chance to enjoy local culinary traditions.

Our journey will continue to the Gufufoss Waterfall, a highlight of the Seyðisfjörður Valley and featured in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty”. This waterfall is a must-see in Seyðisfjörður.

After 5 hours filled with scenery, wildlife, and cultural experiences, we’ll return to Seyðisfjörður Harbour.
