Renting a bike in San Francisco is a way of exploring the city. You can climb up hills and coast down slopes. Key locations include the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, Lombard Street, Fisherman’s Wharf, Alamo Square, Town Hall, and Chinatown. You can experience scenes from films like Vertigo, Mrs. Doubtfire, and The Princess Diaries.
When reserving, you can choose from different types of bicycles: electric, hybrid, or tandem, each offering a distinct experience.
Options
During the reservation, you can select from various bike options for adults and children:
Hybrid Bike
The hybrid bicycle features both city and mountain bike characteristics, making hill climbing easier.
Tandem Bike
Groups of two can rent a tandem bicycle with two seats, ideal for an entertaining outing. This option is also available for younger family members.
Electric Bike
The electric bicycle requires less pedaling, utilizing an electric motor and a rechargeable battery, reaching speeds of nearly 20 miles per hour. Note that individuals under 16 may not rent an electric bike.
How Does it Work?
Upon reservation, select a day for bike rental. Once you arrive at the rental office, the bike is available for either 2 hours or 2 days. For a 2-day rental, if rented on Monday at 10 am, it must be returned by 10 am on Wednesday.
