Angkor Wat Temples Tour Itinerary
Meet at The Blanc Residence and head north to the mystical ruins of the ancient city of Angkor, the former Khmer capital from the 9th century until the 15th century.
Your guided tour starts at Angkor Wat, built in the early 12th century. Despite its abandonment, it has been a place of worship since its foundation and became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1992. Learn about the temple as you walk through peaceful avenues where Buddhist monks pray.
Next, visit Bayon, noted for its bas-reliefs featuring smiling faces, followed by Ta Prohm, a Buddhist monastery taken over by nature, recognizable from Tomb Raider.
Enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant to recharge before exploring Angkor Thom, the last stronghold of the Khmer Empire. Cross the Southern Gate and explore its ruins, including the almost 1000-year-old Baphuon temple.
During the tour, see the Terrace of the Elephants and Terrace of the Leper King, and learn about their histories. Visit Phimeankas, a three-tier pyramid temple in the Royal Palace enclosure.
Return to the meeting point in Siem Reap around 5:30 pm.
