Explore Angkor Wat, the biggest religious monument in the world, and discover over a thousand ancient temples nestled in the Cambodian jungle.

Angkor Wat Temples Tour Itinerary

Upon meeting at The Blanc Residence, the tour will commence north of the city at the ancient city of Angkor, the Khmer capital from the 9th to the 15th century.

The guided tour starts with an exploration of Angkor Wat, built in the early 12th century and a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1992. Visitors can observe Buddhist monks in prayer as they learn about the temple's history.

Next, the tour continues to Bayon, known for its bas-reliefs featuring smiling faces. Following that is Ta Prohm, a Buddhist monastery overrun by nature, recognizable from its appearance in Tomb Raider.

A break will be taken for lunch at a local restaurant before embarking on the exploration of Angkor Thom, the last stronghold of the Khmer Empire before its fall in the 15th century. Visitors will cross the Southern Gate and discover various temples, including the almost 1000-year-old Baphuon.

The tour also includes the Terrace of the Elephants and the Terrace of the Leper King, followed by a visit to Phimeankas, located within the Royal Palace enclosure. The tour concludes back at the meeting point in Siem Reap around 5:30 pm.
