Visit one of Cambodia's largest ancient temple complexes. Your tour guide will reveal the hidden secrets of the crumbling shrines as you explore the overgrown jungle around Koh Ker and Beng Mealea.

Koh Ker Temples Day Trip Itinerary

After being picked up from your hotel in Siem Reap between 7:40 am and 8:10 am, you'll head out of the city to the northeast by bus. The journey will take you deep into one of the most important archaeological parks in Cambodia.

Following an approximately 56 mile (90 km) drive, you'll arrive at the former capital of the Khmer empire: Koh Ker. This second largest temple complex in Cambodia extends over 50 square miles (80 sq m) and is home to more than 180 temples, with only a few accessible to visitors amidst the dense jungle.

Among the significant 10th century temples, Prasat Prang is notable, featuring a seven-tiered pyramid with a width of 203 feet (62 m) and a height of 118 feet (36 m). You'll also visit Prasat Thom, Prasat Krahom, and Prasat Krachap, less frequented by tourists and hidden in the tropical trees.

Next, you'll head to Beng Mealea Temple, a mysterious Hindu sanctuary with a lost history. Access the ancient ruins via a wooden walkway and view the exquisite stone carvings depicting Hindu mythology.

After exploring the temple ruins, you'll enjoy a meal at a local restaurant before returning to your hotel in Siem Reap around 7 pm.
