Explore the sacred mountains of Phnom Kulen with this trip from Siem Reap, revealing nature, culture, and ancient pagodas in one day.

Phnom Kulen Trip

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap between 7:40 am and 8:10 am and drive approximately 45 kilometres (27 miles) north to Phnom Kulen, the Holy Mountains of Kulen.

Phnom Kulen National Park features the ruins of the ancient city of Mahendraparvata. Our guide will provide insights into the history of this sacred site.

In Phnom Kulen, explore the River of a Thousand Lingas, with its hand-carved riverbed created during the 9th century, along with traditional Apsara figures and religious Vishnu statues submerged in the water.

Next, visit Preah Ang Thom Pagoda at the mountain summit, home to the giant reclining Buddha. Admire the pagoda's architecture, which is built into the rock surface of the mountain.

We will then head to the Kulen waterfall for a refreshing dip in the natural pool before enjoying lunch—please remember to bring your own picnic.

We plan to return to the hotels in Siem Reap around 4:30 pm.
