Explore the sacred mountains of Phnom Kulen with this trip from Siem Reap. Discover beautiful nature, traditional culture, and ancient pagodas in just one day.

Phnom Kulen Trip

Between 7:40 am and 8:10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap and drive about 45 kilometres (27 miles) north to Phnom Kulen, the Holy Mountains of Kulen.

Phnom Kulen National Park is home to the ruins of the ancient city of Mahendraparvata. Our guide will show you around this sacred place while you learn about its history.

In Phnom Kulen, you'll encounter the River of a Thousand Lingas, with a hand-carved riverbed, sculpted by local inhabitants during the 9th century. There are also traditional Apsara figures and religious Vishnu statues hidden under the water.

Next, we'll continue to Preah Ang Thom Pagoda and the summit of the mountain where we’ll find the giant reclining Buddha. We'll spend time admiring the architecture of the pagoda, built into the rock surface of the mountain.

Our next stop will be the Kulen waterfall, where you'll be able to enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool. We will then take some time for lunch - remember to bring your own picnic!

Finally, we'll return to hotels in Siem Reap around 4:30 pm.
