Explore the mangroves of the Sierpe River on this kayaking adventure departing from Bahía Drake, promising an unforgettable experience amidst the lush landscapes of Southern Costa Rica!
Tour Overview
The journey will commence at the agreed time, gathering next to the Bahía Drake letters. From there, we will make our way on foot to Playa Colorada, where we will board a water taxi.
After approximately 30 minutes of navigating the stunning coastline of Bahía Drake and Playa Guaruras, we will reach the Isla Violín area. Here, we will initiate our kayak tour, providing us access to the winding waters of the Sierpe River and its vibrant mangroves.
As we paddle through the waters, we'll encounter the remarkable biodiversity of the river. This rich ecosystem is home to monkeys, sloths, various bird species, crocodiles, and many other fascinating creatures found in Southern Costa Rica. The region is also renowned for its natural beauty, as the mangroves belong to the Humedal Nacional Térraba Sierpe and the Reserva Forestal Golfo Dulce.
Once we complete our kayaking journey, we'll return to the water taxi and depart from the Sierpe Mangroves. We will then make our way back to the initial meeting point in Bahía Drake, concluding this enriching experience after a total duration of 6.5 hours.
