Experience the authentic culture of Habarana and indulge in the area's exquisite cuisine during this tour from Sigiriya. A scenic boat ride on the lake will also be part of your adventure!

Habarana Tour

Your journey begins at 10 am when we pick you up from your hotel in Sigiriya. A short half-hour drive will lead us to the charming town of Habarana.

Upon arrival, we will transition from a tuk tuk to a traditional ox-drawn cart, a local form of transport that will carry us to the picturesque banks of Habarana Lake. Once we reach the lake, we will disembark and step into a boat to navigate the serene waters of this stunning reservoir.

After enjoying the boat ride, we will proceed to explore some rice paddies, where you’ll gain insight into the cultivation of Asia’s most consumed cereal grain. Take your time to wander through the lush green fields!

Next, we will return to the heart of Habarana to visit a local family who will share their culinary secrets with us through a cooking class featuring traditional recipes. Following this hands-on experience, a sumptuous buffet lunch will await us, offering rice, curry, fish, salad, and papadam.

At approximately 1:30 pm, we will return you to your hotel in Sigiriya, concluding a memorable outing.
