Discover one of the ancient capitals of Sri Lanka with this excursion to Polonnaruwa. You'll also get to meet the local wildlife on a safari in Minneriya National Park.

Activity Details

At 8:30 am on the day of the activity, pick-up will be at your hotel in Sigiriya. We will head east towards Polonnaruwa, approximately an hour and fifteen minutes away.

Polonnaruwa served as one of the capitals of Sri Lanka and the seat of the Sinhalese kings for two centuries. The tour includes visits to ancient ruins declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, including the famous Quadrangle, the unique Vatadage, the stone-carved inscription of Gal Pota, the small Buddhist temple of Thuparama Gedige, and the Gal Vihara Buddha sculpture.

Following lunch at a restaurant, we will proceed to Habarana, surrounded by lush vegetation near Minneriya National Park.

Our safari in Minneriya National Park will offer opportunities to see native wildlife, including wild elephants in their natural habitat.

After 3 hours of safari, we will return to your hotel in Sigiriya, arriving at 6:30 pm.
