Polonnaruwa & Pidurangala Excursion

After picking you up at your hotel in Sigiriya at 10 am, we will travel to Polonnaruwa, arriving approximately at 11:15 am. You'll explore the ruins of this ancient kingdom, founded by King Vijayabahu in 1070, via bicycles for a comfortable experience.

Next, we will leave the bikes and take an ox-drawn cart to experience a traditional mode of transport still used in some Sri Lankan villages. Afterward, you will board a boat for a ride on Bendiwewa Lake for a unique perspective of the area.

We will then visit a local farmer's residence via tuk tuk, where you will learn about traditional countryside lifestyles.

The excursion continues with a drive to the ancient monastery of Pidurangala, known for its ruins set in nature. If you are physically able, you can climb Pidurangala Rock for panoramic views of Sigiriya, an effort that is rewarding.

Finally, we will return to your hotel in Sigiriya, with an expected arrival time of 2 pm.
