Activity Details

The adventure begins at 8:30 am when we will pick you up at your accommodation in Sigiriya. From there, we will travel eastward to Polonnaruwa, which is approximately one hour and fifteen minutes away.

Polonnaruwa once served as a capital of Sri Lanka and was the residence of the Sinhalese royalty for two centuries. Our visit will include a guided tour of its ancient remnants, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights of the tour include the renowned Quadrangle, the distinctive Vatadage, the historically significant stone inscription of Gal Pota, the small Buddhist shrine known as Thuparama Gedige, and the remarkable Gal Vihara Buddha sculpture.

Following our exploration, we will stop at a local restaurant for lunch before proceeding to Habarana, a picturesque area nestled near Minneriya National Park, where we will continue our journey.

Have you ever observed a wild elephant only a few meters away? This is your opportunity! Witnessing these majestic creatures in their natural environment will surely be a memorable experience.

After three hours of safari, we will make our way back to your hotel in Sigiriya, with an expected arrival time of 6:30 pm.
