Ticket Description
The Cathedral of Sigüenza is a notable architectural gem from the 15th century, exemplifying a blend of neoclassical and baroque elements. It is considered the crown jewel of this city and a central landmark in Guadalajara province.
Purchasing a ticket to this site includes an audioguide, allowing visitors to hear the history of how the cathedral was once surrounded by the city's ancient walls, which were removed for its expansion. This structure is also known as El Doncel de Sigüenza, honoring a member of the Vázquez de Arce family, a knight of Santiago who fell in the War of Granada at age 25.
Your ticket also includes entry to the Diocesan Museum of Ancient Art, located across from the Cathedral, featuring significant religious art from the Diocese of Sigüenza-Guadalajara, including the noted painting La Inmaculada Niña by Zurbarán.
